Alysia Reiner Joins Impactree
to Support National Change
Impactree is excited to share that Alysia Reiner, an activist, actress and eco-mom, is using Impactree to inspire her community of organizations and followers to take action. She hopes to drive collective action and lasting change on issues regarding voter turnout, women’s rights, climate change and much more.
Meet Alysia Reiner
Best known as Warden Natalie “Fig” Figueroa on Netflix’s hit TV Show, Orange is the New Black, in which she won a SAG award for her role. Her work on the show led her to becoming a tireless activist for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people, as well as undocumented Americans, particularly inspired by season 7, when her character becomes the warden of an ICE facility on the show. She also starred and produced the film Equity, which was honored at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as Tribeca Film favorite Egg. In addition, she plays Kiki Rains on HBO’s The Deuce and, currently, she plays Sunny on F/X’s Better Things.
Alysia loves working as a change maker for women. She received the Acclaimed Collaborator Award from Women in Arts and Media, is an ambassador for the Geena Davis Institute for Gender Equality, is on the global advisory board of TIMES UP, recently received a Muse “Made in NY” Award from The Mayor’s office and New York Women in Film and Television, and has been invited to the White House, the United Nations, S.H.E. Summit, Google, and Cannes Lion to speak about breaking barriers for women in all fields. Additionally, she was awarded the Sarah Powell Huntington Leadership Award by the Women’s Prison Association, and in 2016 will be honored with the Voice of a Woman Award, the Pioneer in Filmmaking Award, and the Founders Award.
